US President-elect Donald Trump has asked the Supreme Court of the United States to pause his sentencing in the hush money trial. Trump's request comes ahead of his inauguration in January 20 for a second term at the White House. jl999 gaming

Furthermore, Trump's request is also highly unusual and comes against the backdrop of SCOTUS' ruling on presidential immunity in July 2024.

As per Trump's attorneys, the pause is needed "to prevent grave injustice and harm to the institution of the presidency and the operations of the federal government.”

As per reports, the Republican leader's appeal comes a day after a state appeals court in New York rejected his request to postpone the sentencing.

The sentencing against Trump in the hush money trial is set for Friday - January 10, 2025.

Ahead of his landslide victory in the 2024 Presidential elections, Donald Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records. The president-elect has appealed that his conviction should be "tossed aside" due to the presidential immunity ruling in July.
