LUCENA CITY — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) suspended sea travel on Monday, Dec. 9, in the northern part of Quezon province due to rough sea conditions.
In an advisory, the PCG in northern Quezon based in Real town cited the 11 a.m. forecast by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) that strong gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon “are prevailing or expected to affect the northern and eastern coast of the Polillo Islands (northern Panukulan, northeastern Burdeos, northern Patnanungan, and northern and eastern Jomalig).”
Article continues after this advertisement“In this regard, all trips of vessels and small crafts with 250 gross tonnages and below plying the route within the abovementioned areas of northern Quezon are hereby suspended,” the PCG said.

Polillo Island, facing the Pacific Ocean in the northern part of Quezon, is host to the towns of Polillo, Burdeos, and Panukulan.
